W.Y.S.E. is short for Worldwide Youth in Science and Engineering. It is an academic competition sponsored by the University of Illinois, School of Engineering. Fourteen students compete as a team. They take timed tests in the subjects of Mathematics, English, Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Computer Science, and Engineering Graphics.
This is our first year to compete in the division of schools with enrollments of 300 to 700 students (even though our enrollment is 288). Team accomplishments during the last three years include:
2010 Regional Champions (six schools in the division with enrollments less than 300 students)
2011 Regional Champions (six schools in the division with enrollments less than 300 students)
2012 Regional Third Place (six schools in the division with enrollments of 300 to 700 students)
2010 Sectional – Second Place (fourteen regional champions and runners-up)
2011 Sectional – Second Place (fourteen regional champions and runners-up)
