Christian Service

The motto of St. Teresa High School is Serviam, which means " I will serve." Our school-wide Christian Service Learning program is based on the mission of St. Teresa High School and our call to love others and to give freely the gifts that have been given to us. In the spirit of the Gospel values, we take a step toward becoming more aware of the needs of others and sharing our gifts of time and presence.

The program requires every student to complete 10 hours of service each year 8 of the 10 hours must be in direct service to people in need. In addition, an entire school day in the spring is devoted to serving the community. Students, faculty, staff, board members and other adult volunteers work together to complete service projects and serve at organizations that benefit people in greatest need.

For each site, there is a phone number to use to find out more information and their current needs. Also, the name listed will be who your son(s)/daughter(s) will need to have sign their service hours form before submitting it to their theology teacher each semester. As always, students are more than welcome to complete their fall requirement during the summer and their spring requirement during Christmas break.

If a student chooses not to complete their service requirement or does not select a site off the approved service sites list, their grade in theology will be lowered two steps. For example, if they were earning a B+, it would be lowered to a B-.
