Fr. Steve Arisman, who is an Assistant Chaplin at the Neumann Center and currently working at the parishes in Charleston and Mattoon, has recently been appointed by Bishop Paprocki as pastor of Our Lady of the Holy Spirit in Mt. Zion and St. Isidore in Bethany, beginning July 1, 2016. Fr. Arisman will also serve as the St. Teresa High School Chaplain and Director of Retreats, as well as heading up the CAC (Catholic Athletes for Christ) program at St. Teresa.
Fr. Arisman is a Springfield, Illinois native (St. Agnes Parish) who is 35 years old and was ordained in 2014. He has served as the assistant chaplain at the Newman Center at Eastern Illinois University.
He is an Eagle Scout and has been the Chaplain of the Diocesan Catholic Committee on scouting. He also serves as the co-coordinator of the Totus Tuus (Latin for totally thine) youth summer program.
Fr. Arisman is the youngest of four (4) children and has 10 nieces and nephews.
He currently serves as an Assistant Master of Ceremonies to Bishop Paprocki.
