St. Teresa students spend time off campus and in the community. Last week students helped pick up garbage around the streets of Decatur as part of the city-wide “Youth Talkin’ Trash Day“.
This Friday they will continue to help make a difference in the community with a coordinated “Lend a Hand Day“. Students, lead by faculty and staff, will venture out to various establishments to help those in need. Nursing homes, homeless shelters, elderly homes, charities and community organizations will host groups of St. Teresa students throughout the day. Their tasks will include helping serve food, yard work, maintenance and other jobs in need.
Also this past week, McLeod Express LLC invitedsome of our students last week, to their “Trucks, Traffic, and Teens” safety awareness event, hosted by their Safety Department. They helped our student drivers to “Know the No’s” of the road. (No Phones, No Zones, & No Distractions).
St. Teresa is always looking for ways to help improve the community and introduce our students to ways they can learn outside of the classroom.
