ACT Preparation Course St. Teresa normally offers a special program to accommodate the growing demand for preparation for the ACT test. Two faculty members teach a preparatory course in the four disciplines that are tested on the ACT Examination: English, Reading, Mathematics, and Science Reasoning. This course covers a comprehensive review of vital subject matter in each discipline, and instructors also work with students on alleviating test anxiety, learning how to better read and understand the types of questions in each discipline, and practicing timed-testing to cover all questions in a given time period. Classes are generally held from 7:10 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. each morning, Monday through Thursday, and some Fridays, at St. Teresa High School. Because this is a “zero hour” course offered before the school day begins, it does not interfere with any extracurricular activities or weekend plans. Classes normally begin in late February and continue until just before the April ACT exam date. Textbooks can be purchased from the school. Enrolling in this preparatory course better enables students to achieve the highest possible scores on this test. Offering the course is just one more step in St. Teresa's dedication to help each student reach his or her potential. |
