Academic Programs

One of the trademarks of St. Teresa is academic excellence. The academic achievements of our present students, as well as an overwhelming number of our graduates, indicate the strength and diversity of St. Teresa's academic programs.

Because more than 90 percent of our graduates enter post-secondary education, St. Teresa must provide the necessary motivation and preparation for college success. Our curriculum contains courses which take our students far beyond the minimum college preparatory subject offerings.

Meeting the educational needs of the individual is the task of education. The academic program at St. Teresa is designed to fulfill this goal. Three academic programs and several college credit courses are offered:

  • The Advanced Placement Classes, designed for honors students who desire opportunities to earn college credit while in high school. The Honors Program, based largely on school testing and on teacher recommendations. Selection made by the department involved.
  • The Academic Program, designed for the typical college-bound student.
  • The General Program, designed for students who need help in mathematics and English.

Technology is integrated into class studies. Each classroom contains at least one computer. The computer lab contains 25 new stations and a second 25-station computer lab is in the library. The chemistry and biology labs each have five computers.
